Thanksgiving Weekend! AHHH!

November 22, 2011 / Say Something!

Wow! What a week!
Who knew that Christmas was in full-swing BEFORE Thanksgiving?

Well, it’s exciting to see so many people already placing orders with us. We even had to shut down 11/25 (Black Friday) for deliveries because we have so many to deliver that day already!

I hope everyone has an excellent turkey day and remembers what to be thankful for in their lives.

Me, the Yule Dispatcher? I’m thankful for all the friends who come together to help us make this happen every year. But most of all, for sharing it with the love of my life as my business partner. I mean, hell, if you’re going to argue it might as well be about business finances!

ALSO, HUGE PS to those interested in Hanukah candles, we will be adding those to the store in a week or two. I wasn’t in a hurry because my hebrew insider told me that most celebrants don’t really need the candles until the holiday arrives. But keep an eye open for them.

10% goes to The Dougy Center

November 12, 2011 / 1 Shout Out!

We started Trees By Bike to spread holiday cheer to Portland neighborhoods by bike, but beyond the handlebars of our riders we also like to give a little more. Every year we donate 10% to a charity that we think is something special.
This year we selected The Dougy Center because they provide services for grieving children and teens and their families. Grief is a heavy weight to bear, and that is especially true during the holidays. We are proud to ride for the sake of the folks who are served by The Dougy Center, and to help contribute to their beautiful cause.

So remember when you’re ordering your tree this year, that 10% is going straight to The Dougy Center!

Hanukkah Candles Available!

November 22, 2010 / Say Something!

That’s right, Trees By Bike is happy to spread the love to our jewish friends! Celebrate the Festival of Lights with some pedal-delivered candles this year.

Thanks to the suggestion of our friend Beth Hamon, we have procured some boxes of candles from Congregation Beth Israel here in Portland, and are ready to ride them out to you today. Here at Trees By Bike we may not celebrate Hanukah every year ourselves, but we have a great appreciation for the meaning and tradition of this holiday. Hopefully this can be a small “mitzvah” to get our Jewish friends’ hanukkah going.  So get your menorah ready and let your friends know!

We will be delivering until Dec 1st, the first day of Hanukkah!

*Thanks to the very generous Congregation Beth Israel, we’re able to lower our price to $5/box!

HANUKKAH CANDLES ARE SOLD OUT FOR THE SEASON. HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AND BE BLESSED.

November 9, 2010 / Say Something!

We are proud to announce that ProjectGrow will be hosting our dispatch lot this year in their North Portland Farm. It’s wonderful to work with such a great organization and we are very thankful.

Also, this year 10% of all our sales will be gifted to Project Grow to say “thanks” for all the excellent stuff they do.

Check out Project Grow’s website and get involved today!

Thanks to Molly and Veloshop!

January 7, 2010 / Say Something!

With our delivery season now well over, we just wanted to say a quick “THANKS!” to Molly Cameron and all the folks at Veloshop (Ryan, Jake, and Brent). Without your support, space, and occasional food, TreesByBike would not have done so well.

Thanks a lot for everything.

Help our friend by supporting them. Visit MollyCameron.com and stop by Veloshop for any of your bike needs!

TreesByBike on Portland Sucks today!

December 23, 2009 / Say Something!

Today, 12/23, Portland Sucks had me, Max, on their show to talk about TreesByBike and the whole delivering giant items by bicycle experience. Robert Wagner and Sabrina Miller were excellent hosts, and extremely entertaining. It was hard to get myself together at first, with a lead-in immediately following some classic comments by Robert.

Check out the podcast here at Portland Sucks podcast #195 here >>

You can also listen live to the Portland Sucks antics weekdays at 8am or subscribe to their podcast on iTunes.

Thanks again Portland Sucks!

BikeSnobNYC mentioned us!

December 18, 2009 / Say Something!

seal of disapproval 1Trees By Bike has reached the next level of total Christmas Tree delivery domination. Today, Friday the 18th of December 2009, marks a day that will always be remembered as “Trees By Bike being mentioned in BikeSnobNYC’s Friday quiz” day!

That’s right, the unruly New York bicycle elitist has cast his burning stare upon our woolen northwest backs. And things for us will never be the same.

P.S. for the few emails I’ve received. No we do not deliver outside of Portland, and yes we realize it’s funny to ask that question over and over.

We’re out of trees, but we still have some friends.

December 18, 2009 / Say Something!

img_1045As of this last Tuesday Trees By Bike is officially out of our regular trees. There are some table-tops that have to be cut still, and those will be offered on our blog at a special price. But as for buying any other trees, we’re done for the season. It’s great news, we had so much fun riding trees out to people and spreading some holiday cheer.

If you still need a tree, don’t worry! Edwin, from A Convenient Cycle in SE, is also delivering trees this season. Check out his blog for information on how to order a tree or some firewood to keep you warm this holiday.

Thanks to all our customers. This was an excellent opportunity for us and we hope you enjoy your trees.
